The Planning Partnership provided services in relation to securing planning permission for a once-off rural house in the Belmullet area of Mayo in association with Corvus Consulting.
Planning permission had been refused twice previously for reasons including rural housing policy, impact on the landscape, design and potential impact on an adjoining lake which is designated as a Special Area of Conservation and a Special Protection Area.
The Planning Partnership provided the planning expertise along with Corvus Consulting who prepared a detailed Natura Impact Statement, setting out both a detailed rationale for the granting of planning permission and assessing the potential impacts on the environment, particularly in terms of the adjacent protected lake. Following consideration of the application, Mayo County Council granted planning permission for the proposed dwelling in June 2012.
